day one back on the market and I would like nothing more than to eat pasta and get fat
I broke up with my boyfriend yesterday. I gave him two reasons (a) he did not love me / could not clearly see a future with me. (b) we wanted different things in life - he was not ready to settle down and I was ready or at least will be within the next 2 years.
It was difficult. I've never been so proactive in my life. I usually wait for the relationship to catch on fire and burn to a crisp before I consider it a plausible idea to discuss a break up....
THUS the reason why I am 28 and single. Twenty Eight. That's a roughly 2-3 years before I am 30. Thirty is a difficult age for dating. It is perceived as a significantly less desirable female age compared to 20's. ( I don't like the misguided perception but I acknowledge that it exists.)
I know everyone has their opinions on when is the perfect time for marriage or children, but this is my preferred time and age for when I would like to get married. I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm not saying I won't change my mind or that I must follow my strict timeline with whomever I am with at that moment. I am saying, it would be NICE if life worked out that way. God knows it never does....
I have some time...but not a lot of time. Here's what I need to do from now until 30. I read the guide to dating in my 30s from this blogger that I really like.
Get my finances in order.
Establish my own residence.
Make new friends.
Try a dating app (or two) and go out on dates.
Find a guy I like.
Get to know him.
After 30 - Marriage. Children. Beach House.
This blog is to help me capture these moments. Wish me luck.
